F&ck Saudi Arabia, I Got A Prius
I got an 08 Prius last week and I love it. I've driven all over town for a week and still have 2/3 a tank of gas. I get about 55 mpg here in the neighborhood (I drive in mostly electric mode - in the wee night hours). It's like a spaceship. I'm also going to tip my hat to our friend Jenji Kohan (Bruce worked with Jenji's parents, Buz and Rhea, years ago) by getting vanity plates:

Nice all over.
I'm in the middle of replacing the petrol engine in my Nissan Pulsar with an electric motor. Not quite the style of the Prius, but screw the Saudis, hey?

Congrats! (I'm late in catching up.) I couldn't afford a hybrid just yet, but I bought a new Honda Civic Coupe this month, and I get 30 mpg around town, which is pretty good -- a lot better than the old Sable! Ugh. I've had it three weeks now and it's already got over 1,000 miles on it. Eek...but that's because my first weekend I did take it on a roadtrip to Eastern Oregon for Hermiston's first (and possibly last) gay pride. Whee!
