Stop Touching Your Daughter

Oh shit. That's not his daughter. That's his wife. He is so rational. Too bad he doesn't have a prayer, because I really believe in his ideas. Barrack is still my guy (and, I'm proud to report, my Senator). John Edwards is such a phony. He makes my skin crawl. Biden sure is clever. Chillary's hair was perrrfect - not man hair, and not woman hair. Who was that barking madman from the frosty Alaskan tundra? And why is he so right about shit? Yikes. Dodd is too milquetoast. Richardson gets a better NRA rating than any Repulican candidate. Big, sweaty, and ARMED. I don't hate Hillary anymore. I deeply loathe her. Oh, and can Chris Matthews say "dickin around" on basic cable? Obama was on MSBC after - breathtaking. I want a brutha in the white house. That would be so infinitely fucking cool.

From LM in NJ

["Hi, Aethlos. Just got around to sampling that very interesting grab-bag of cds you sent me, gratis. The Flanders Swann I haven't played, but the Dennis Brain's surprise was a marvel, a performamce of the Mozart K. 452 I had not heard. The Brahms chamber pieces are a bit above my head, but a friend with revel in them. I took the 4 most damaged cds, cleaned them up and made perfect copies of 2, and 2 with occasional bits of noise -rather like an instant F.M.radio "crackle" or a bit of dust being hit by a stylus on an old-lp record, but they are still listenable all the way through - no mistracks. The Bammert Michael Haydn is one I actually had planned to buy myself as well as the Rilling Bach. Two Correllis? I can't get enough. Some classical musicians I knew hated to play baroque music- "the same thing, over and over" - but what do musicians know anyway? The Sony Vivarte is a treasure - I have every Paul Van Nevel cd on Sony. So, thanks again for your great generosity! LM NJ."] Uh, you're so welcome LM, serendipity indeed!, SL IL KEEP THAT MUSIC PLAYIN AROUND THE WORLD.

Contextualizing Dead Teenagers

Thirty-three Americans died yesterday. Shot dead in cold blood, and I cannot find a single cable news channel discussing anything else. How many Iraqis died yesterday? That "factoid" would never crawl the ticker. It's a gruesome thing to lose a child. I cannot really imagine that arena of pain. These kids aren't the only ones who died. 28,000 children died of starvation yesterday, and 28,000 more children will die tomorrow - children we could save, and 28,000 the next day, and the next day. The United States slaughtered millions of peasants and farmers in the pacific rim. Every 24 months drunk drivers kill more people than died in the entire Vietnam war. Papa Doc killed 100,000+ in his short reign. The killing fields were millions - the examples are endless. 911 killed around 3,000 people - insignificant - hardly even worth a footnote. Stalin, Hitler, Idi Amin, Pol Pot, etc. they were putting up serious numbers. America slaughters innocent people in unimaginable numbers - ask Nicaraguans, Iraqis, Kurds, Grenadians, Panamanians, Columbians, ask the Timorese how many hundreds of thousands of their women and children have been butchered by U.S. weapons. We are the number one global agents of death. A recent Pakistani earthquake killed 300,000. That starts to approach real numbers. Death comes with a crawl, or comes with a pounce, but when you compare death in America to death in most countries - we are practically immortal. If only 33 corpses showed up each morning in the Baghdad morgue it would be cause for celebration! Champagne for everyone! Only 33 bodies tortured to death! 33 corpses is death on an infinitesimal scale.

Minus Imus

So fired! Bye-bye NAPPY HEADED HOnky. I hate to see him go, but the employees of MSNBC have spoken. The masochist in me is going to miss all the morning abuse I used to get from Imus. Who's going to call me a "pansy-assed pinko panty-wearing liberal"? Who's going to call me a "beady-eyed communist weasel"? This proves what a moron I am - I just don't get it. Gentle readers, I'm clearly a total fucking idiot. I hope those Rutgers gals turn all these lemons into lemonade. And I hope the Imus Ranch for kids with cancer lives on forever. Thank God I've been forgiven for all my stupid mistakes. I forgive you I-Man, and I don't have to wake up till after 9 AM anymore. Being an anarcho-syndicalist I believe all power structures are, by default, illegitimate (until proven otherwise by overwhelming evidence). Therefore it is the duty of every good citizen to question, attack, and subvert power structures and the people who control them. This is one reason I love Imus - he made a career of flaying the powerful, but herein lies his recent error - he attacked the weak. Shame on him for that. The Lesson: attack the powerful. NEVER ABUSE THE POWERLESS. Very good lesson. Oh, and before you pass judgement, just view this ONE CLIP.

Wake The Neighbors, Call The Kids!

My dear old friend Mike Miller has started a tremendous new internet company. Please tell everyone with children about Gagas! It's basically Netflix, but for children's formal wear. Please spread the word! Watch this clip of Mike on ABC News!

One Martyr's Heaven

Yes, there were virgins awaiting the young martyrs, but not the kind of virgins they were expecting...
