Gay Couples Can Legally Marry In Illinois!

The gruesome truth about gay marriage is that any two men who want to marry - can marry, but first, one of them must cut off his penis. American society is basically saying: "Sure you two can have all the legal benefits of marriage, as long as one of you surgically mutilates yourself so that your genitals look like ours." There are thousands of same-genetic-sex couples in this country, one of whom has undergone sexual reassignment surgery. What kind of a sick fucking twisted barbaric society requires members of a minority to surgically mutilate themselves in order to claim a right available to the majority? The truth about gay marriage is that it IS legal, and it IS happening - in many states... as long as a penis is surgically added to or subtracted from the equation. Sick.

Hmm, I was assuming you're were giving free vent to some very dark humour, but others seem to think otherwise. That said, the lack of any links to back up your post seems to me a bit suspicious ...

OOPS! I initially posted that these marriages are legal in ALL 50 STATES... i was WRONG! (thnx Chloe) HERE is the SCOOP: The United States law on this issue varies from state to state, since the issuance of birth certificates and the recognition of marriages are largely state matters. Several courts have come to the conclusion that sex reassignments are not to be recognized for the purpose of marriage, including courts in Ohio, Texas and New York. Other courts (including courts in Kansas and New Jersey) have recognized the reassignments. Most U.S. states permit the name and sex to be changed on a birth certificate, either through amending the existing birth certificate or by issuing a new one. But Idaho, Ohio and Tennessee refuse to permit a change of sex. California will amend birth certificates only for California natives currently living in California. However, on August 2, 2003, California joined Minnesota, Rhode Island and New Mexico (as well as New York City) in expanding legal protection from discrimination to include gender identity or expression, which may aid transsexuals in future cases in these jurisdictions.

So... basically you're saying if I get a second penis attached I can marry a woman? Don't they call that polygamy or something? Err...

Ridiculous.

This shouldn't even be an issue in today's society.

Homosexuality is not unnatural. How do I know this? Is it because I am a lesbian? No.

I know that homosexuality is natural because it is a behaviour which can be observed in the natural world. If it is a behaviour which can be observed in the natural world, it is a natural behaviour.

The problem with the arguments that many people use, but primarily religious people, is that they want to believe they are NOT part of the natural world.

But, just because a behaviour is part of the natural world it might not be a behaviour which human beings condone. Killing, for example, is part of the natural world and obviously a "natural behaviour" because an incredible amount of it occurs.

But our arguments against killing are much more sophistocated than some people's arguments against homosexuality. Homophobes need a better argument than "It's unnatural."

They just fail to realise that they don't have one.

(Is all natural behaviour apporpriate behaviour? Is where they need to take the argument. But it still won't get them anywhere.)
