New Friends
Last night at Crew, with Woody and Todd. I'm so glad I went, because I finally met these two fantastic guys (and learned we're a lot closer than I imagined), but I was disappointed that the trumpeted "Chicago Gay Blogger" thing didn't seem to materialize - or did materialized, but operates in such stealth that no one could determine who any of them were without going table to table and asking - eek. Notice one of my favorite Homer Simpson quotes is posted on the tap behind our heads: "I like my beer cold and my homosexuals flaming." Amen.

Sounds like you had a great time at your table! I found myself at 8:30 finishing a workout at Cheetah, covered with sweat and reeking of bad hair. So I decided not to horrify the patrons (guessing the scene would be just as you described) by approaching each table like Frankenblogger asking, "Is this the blogger party?" So I started The Constant Gardener with Ralph Fiennes instead. Sorry I missed you, Todd, and Woody, but I'm sure I see you around soon neighbor.

it didn't occur to me beforehand that i wouldn't know what these bloggers looked like.
In fairness to Angst - his notice said "more info:" followed by his email address. I neglected to email and ask for more info, but i assume if i had -- he would have told me the secret handshake... or given me the secret color, or whatever. Maybe we'll just have to organize another one... :)
i've met only one other blogger and flaked on two others. for some reason i'm terrified to meet other bloggers but that's only because i'm nothing like the homicidal maniac i often portray in my posts. haha! i'm really just a boring geeky girl. ::sigh::
We all have pictures in our blogs, you would think last night would of gone better. I probably walked right by you guys. The Blind Bloggers Bash?
