Creative Genius

The Bob Blog is a glimpse into the mind and behind the eyes of a remarkable artist. The imagery is fantastic... the bright geometric (almost sexual) clarity of the automobiles to the gritty and ferocious pieces of machinery... the vacant, haunted spaces and buildings, surreal, and visceral. Few photo- graphers capture the beauty of disin- tegration this perfectly. These aren't just photos, they are powerfully evocative candidates for art. I love his work.

OK I really liked the train batch far more, the colors, the organic tone juxtaposed with industry,machinery... guess I'm just wacky. Then again, I use recycled materials in my own artwork so I obviously am a relic kinda gal.

The train shots remind me of pictures I took at an abandoned stove junk yard years ago- yeah, there's such a thing. Total backwoods type of destination...

I love the way he has cropped and juxtaposed the images. He certainly has an eye for making Urban decay beautiful...a hard feat considering all the socio-ecoomic issues. It's almost trickery to the senses, isn't it?

I think the trickery is what makes the successful execution that much more salient.
