"burst" vs. "compression" fracture

"A burst fracture is a descriptive term for an injury to the spine in which the vertebral body is severely compressed. They typically occur from severe trauma, such as a motor vehicle accident or a fall from a height. With a great deal of force vertically onto the spine, a vertebra may be crushed. If it is only crushed in the front part of the spine, it becomes wedge shaped and is called a compression fracture. However, if the vertebral body is crushed in all directions it is called a burst fracture. The term burst implies that the margins of the vertebral body spread out in all directions. This is a much more severe injury than a compression fracture for two reasons. With the bony margins spreading out in all directions the spinal cord is liable to be injured. The bony fragment that is spread out toward the spinal cord can bruise the spinal cord causing paralysis or partial neurologic injury." lampanelli reversal

... i first saw lisa lampanelli on comedy central's pam anderson roast... i had never even heard of lampanelli, & she totally stole the entire show & blew me away... i thought she was the most hilarious act i'd seen n years... but my friend donnie young recently showed me 1 of her routines he had tivo'ed, & it was so racially, stereotypically intense that i think i hate her. i'm the last comic to care about political correctness, & those who have seen my show know that i use more racial epithets than any act on earth... BUT... i have a theory about balance - for every slam against others i slam myself twice - i make sure to insult myself more than i insult others, but lampanelli's routine is excruciatingly brutal toward every minority but she rarely aims her vitriole at herself. i was strangely unsettled by her stand-up routine, & i think i hate her now, but i'm not sure about that... 2 her credit she bills herself as an "insult comic"... anyone else have an opinion about lampanelli?

...i go 8 weeks w/o even turning on mtv, then i catch a punk'd marathon - 6 episodes n a row - & i'm just addicted, hooked, transfixed, i love this show, & some of ashton kutcher's schtick is funny, some isn't, but he's the allen funt of our generation, & the pranks r SO FUCKIN elaborate, i can't believe how complex the pranx r, & i love the celebrity aspect. my favorite moment is always the reveal - when the jig is up & the celeb realizes it's a hoax... i love this show, & i love that catching those all night punk'd marathons - when i can c a whole season - bcuz i would never tune n 2 MTV for anything else. OH, Except for WONDER SHOWZEN... that show deserves a whole other post...
